Luka puts up 35 in win over Jazz

The Mavs are just a half game behind the Jazz in the Western Conference standings and tensions were high between Doncic and Gobert in Monday's game.

Update:
Luka puts up 35 in win over Jazz

The Dallas Mavericks outplayed the Utah Jazz Monday night, defeating them 111-103 at home, giving them their fifth straight win. With this win, the Mavericks now sit just half a game behind the Jazz in the Western Conference standings - the Jazz in fourth and the Mavs in fifth. The two teams will meet again on March 27 in Dallas, giving the Mavericks a chance to even out the series in their home court.

In the 111-103 win over the Jazz on Monday, Luka Doncic led the Mavs with 35 points and a season-high 16 rebounds. For the Jazz, Bojan Bogdanovic was the leader with 21 points and Rudy Gobert, who seemed to be the source of a lotof frustration for Doncic, scored 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Gobert vs Doncic

There were a few moments of tension between Gobert and Doncic during the game. Just before halftime buzzer, Doncic missed a shot and blamed it on a foul by Gobert, who threw the ball to Doncic, triggering him to go after him. That led Doncic to his 13th technical foul. Then, in the third quarter, Doncic passed an alley-oop to Dwight Powell and was tripped by Gobert, but the refs called it incidental and didn't give him the foul.

Though both players spoke in the post game, saying that it was just an emotional game, it will be interesting to see how things go if these two players meet again in the playoffs.
