Entrepreneur Elon Musk has called out President Vladimir Putin in bizarre Twitter posts on Monday, appearing to suggest the pair settle the war in Ukraine with a fight.

The Eastern European country has been the subject of a brutal invasion from Russian forces for nearly three weeks and the Russian leader, a former KGB agent, has not shown any sign of relating in his quest the capture Ukraine.

When translated fully into English, Musk’s tweet reads: “I hereby challenge Vladimir Putin to single combat. Stakes are Ukraine”

In an interview with Joe Rogan, Musk said that trained in kyokushin karate, taekwondo, judo and Brazilian jiu-jitsu when he was a child.

Musk is never one to shy from the limelight and his tweets received huge attention online racing up more than 100,000 likes in just two hours. He followed up that original post with another in Putin’s native Russia, asking: “Do you accept?”

Musk has already offered support to Ukraine in more practical ways, providing use of his Starlink internet system to counteract Russian cyberattacks on the Ukrainian network. Use of internet and other forms of rapid communication will be vital in the Ukrainian defence against Russia.
