AS Monaco interested in signing Honduras striker Alberth Elis
The Honduras international is having a breakout season with FC Girondins Bordeaux and has scored nine goals in Ligue 1.
Alberth Elis joined FC Girondins Bordeaux last summer and has scored nine goals and provided one assist in 19 appearances across all competitions so far this campaign. Unfortunately, Bordeaux sits at the bottom of the table with 22 points with a record of four wins, 10 draws and 14 defeats.
This means that the Ligue 1 side could face relegation at the end of the campaign if they don’t make a late push to make it out from the bottom of the table. Bordeaux suffered a 3-0 defeat against PSG last weekend and they will try to bounce back when they play Montpellier on 20 March at home.
Elis has awoken the interest of other clubs
Regardless of what happens this season with Bordeaux, Alberth Elis could leave the club because he has awoken the interest of other Ligue 1 clubs. According to reports from Honduras, AS Monaco is keen on signing the 26-year-old for the upcoming season and they are in advanced talks already.
It was Elis' agent, Daniel Solis, that confirmed the news regarding the Honduras international establishing his contract negotiations with a certain club.
“It is true that there has been a meeting with another club, but I can’t say which one,” said Solis to Diez.
