NBA

What NBA games are on today, Sunday March 27?

As we close out the NBA’s Week 23, each matchup is more important than ever, especially in the tightly packed Eastern Conference where nothing is certain

Bringing the penultimate week to a close, most playoff positions out west are already decided, but in the east it is a completely different story. Seeds can change and teams can drop out altogether. With just a few games to go, it is all to play for.

The matchups today to keep your eye on

Minnesota Timberwolves @ Boston Celtics

An inter-conference matchup that sees the Celtics, led by Jayson Tatum’s 27 points per game, welcome the Timberwolves into town. The Celtics are always strong at home and the Wolves struggle on the road, so smart money is on a Boston win.

Losing would hurt Boston more than it would Minnesota. The Wolves are locked in to that seventh seed in the west and this loss won’t be enough to drop them. But a lose for the Celtics would mean dropping from third to fourth seed in the east, where they are currently evened up with the Bucks at a half a game out of first.

Philaelphia 76ers @ Phoenix Suns

The top team from each conference square off as the Sixers head out to Phoenix to face the Suns. With two ironclad teams, this game promises to be a clash of true titans.

While no outcome can knock the Suns off their perch, the Sixers are in the middle of a four-way bloodletting in the east, tied for first with the Heat and only a half a game above the Timberwolves and Celtics. A loss here would change the eastern picture entirely while a win would see Philly sneak ahead into a solo first place.

Charlotte Hornets @ Brooklyn Nets

The Hornets will be looking to extend its three-game road win streak in Brooklyn. This game has direct consequences on the playoffs with Brooklyn clinging on to that eighth seed and Charlotte only a game adrift in ninth place.

A win wouldn’t see the Hornets in the playoffs, but it would go a long way toward that end. As we go into the final week of the regular season, it is all about momentum, and Charlotte are looking to create some.
