The star of the small screen had to be treated by emergency services after suffering a series of massive heart attacks.

Mark Sheppard has lived through one of the most traumatic experiences one can endure. The actor and musician, famous for his portrayal of Crowley in the television series ‘Supernatural,’ was on the brink of death after suffering a total of six heart attacks in a single day and being revived on four occasions by emergency personnel.

The incident took place last Friday when the 59-year-old British actor was in the kitchen of his home on Mullholland Drive in Los Angeles. As per his comments later, he experienced a series of massive heart attacks, clinically dying four times. Emergency services were able to attend to the actor, stabilizing his vital signs. Sheppard took to social media to share his experience, bringing relief to his loved ones, including his wife, Sarah Louise, and his daughter, Isabella Rose.

Sheppard survives ‘six massive heart attacks’

In a post on his Instagram profile, Mark Sheppard explained the details of what happened and how he was feeling.

“You’re not going to believe this! Was on my way to an appointment yesterday when I collapsed in my kitchen. Six massive heart attacks later, and being brought back from dead 4 times I apparently had a 100% blockage in my LAD. The Widowmaker,” he confessed, referring to the major coronary artery being obstructed, before expressing his gratitude to the emergency services and the hospital.

“If not for my wife, the @losangelesfiredepartment at mullholland and the incredible staff @providencecalifornia St Joseph’s - I wouldn’t be writing this. My chances of survival were virtually nil. I feel great. Humbled once more. Home tomorrow!”

Sheppard is not only known for his work in the ‘Supernatural’ series, but has also worked on other projects such as ‘The Invisible Man’, ‘Red Alert’, ‘Star Trek: Voyager’, CSI: New York’ and ' CSI: Las Vegas’, among others.

“Two or three would have been impressive enough.”

One of Sheppard’s co-stars, Misha Collins, responded to the news with a heart felt joke.

“Mark! You don’t always have to do the most spectacular thing! Six heart attacks? Two or three would have been impressive enough. Okay, you’ve impressed us. Now stop, heal up and get back on the road with us. I love you, man.”
