‘American Horror Story’ lands Kim Kardashian for Season 12

Kim Kardashian is set to star in the 12th season of Ryan Murphy and Brad Fulchuk’s ‘American Horror Story’ this summer.

The 42-year-old made the announcement via her Instagram account, which included a teaser video. The clip includes eerie music, while Kardashian captioned the post with eyes and blood drop emojis.

Kardashian will join Emma Roberts

Kardashian will headline the show with franchise star Emma Roberts, who posted the same video to her Instagram account with the caption: “This summer…Kim and I are DELICATE.”

The video reveals that the upcoming season of the anthology series will be called ‘Delicate’.

As for Kardashian’s role in the show, the reality star turned businesswoman didn’t shed light on her character or the upcoming season.

“Kim is among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world and we are thrilled to welcome her to the AHS family,” AHS co-creator Murphy told The Hollywood Reporter.

“Emma and I are excited about collaborating with this true force in the culture. Halley Feiffer has written a fun, stylish and ultimately terrifying role especially for Kim, and this season is ambitious and unlike anything we have ever done.”

The outlet adds that for the first time, the show will lean into source material.

The season is based, in part, on Danielle Valentine’s upcoming novel ‘Delicate Condition’, which comes out in August.

It’s described as a thriller about a woman who becomes convinced that a sinister being is trying to make sure her pregnancy never happens.

How Kardashian got the gig

Reportedly, Kardashian got the gig thanks to her performance while hosting ‘Saturday Night Live’ in 2021.

Murphy was said to be impressed with her performance, and began talking to her about joining ‘American Horror Story’ last summer.

The show will be Kardashian’s most high-profile effort to date, as she has 15-plus years of reality TV experience, first with ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’, and then the relaunch of ‘The Kardashians’ on Hulu last year.

As for Roberts, she was part of the ‘American Horror Story’ ensemble in 2013 for Season 3′s ‘Coven’.

She was last on the show four years ago, and has also starred in season instalments ‘Freak Show’, ‘Cult’, ‘Apocalypse’ and ‘1984′.
