This week, certain Social Security recipients in the U.S. are to receive their next monthly benefits, in the latest payment run on the Social Security Administration’s (SSA) distribution schedule for June.
Who’s getting Social Security on Wednesday, June 17?
Of the just over 71 million Social Security recipients nationwide, many are paid on the second, third or fourth Wednesday in each month, depending on their date of birth.
On June 17, the third Wednesday this month, benefits are due to be sent out to beneficiaries born between the 11th and the 20th of any month.
June 2026’s full three-Wednesdays schedule is:
- Born on 1st-10th of any month: Wednesday, June 10
- Born on 11th-20th of any month: Wednesday, June 17
- Born on 21st-31st of any month: Wednesday, June 24
NB: If you receive Social Security benefits based on someone else’s employment record, the SSA refers to the other person’s date of birth.
What other Social Security payment runs are there in June?
- June 3: Social Security paid out to certain long-term beneficiaries
Social Security recipients who signed up to the program before May 1997 were paid their benefits on June 3, no matter their date of birth.
- June 3: Social Security paid to recipients who also get SSI
Social Security can be combined with Supplemental Security Income (SSI), a benefit for certain low-income individuals. These twin recipients got their SSI on June 1, followed by Social Security two days later.

- Retirement benefits: $2,026.41/month
- Disability benefits: $1,493.20/month
- Survivor benefits: $1,625.56/month

- Direct deposit
Social Security recipients can update their bank-account information using the SSA’s online my Social Security tool.
- Direct Express
Money can be paid onto the Direct Express Card, a debit card for federal disbursements. Sign up for Direct Express at 1-800-333-1795 or 1-800-772-1213, or at a Social Security office.
