A wedding is supposed to be one of the most important day of someone’s life, and the happiest, yet Clare Crawley recently saw her own wedding plans thrown into chaos due to the theft of her wedding dress.

Having announced her engagement to Mascot Sports CEO Ryan Dawkins in October 2022, the ‘Bachelorette’ star is set to tie the knot in 2023.

However, she recently told fans via her Instagram stories that her plans had been derailed. Crawley shared the news that her dress had been stolen, though she was surprisingly relaxed and optimistic given the circumstances.

“I know I always share this, but I’m deeply, deeply in the belief that everything is supposed to happen how it’s supposed to happen, regardless of if it looks good or if it looks bad, or whether it’s what I want or not,” Crawley said in the video.

“I trust to the depths of my soul that everything is for a reason, and we might not know that reason now, but it works out. So let me tell you what happened.”

The dress was stolen after a Hawaii trip

Crawley had been spending time in Hawaii with her fiancée when the theft occurred.

“When Ryan and I got back from Hawaii at the beginning of this week, my car had been broken into while we were gone,” she continued.

“Guess what was in the car? Keep in mind my wedding is very soon.

“My wedding dress was in my car! It was in there because I was supposed to take it to get its last alteration, and I wanted to remind myself not to forget it. And my wedding dress was taken.

“In the moment, I was like ‘Ughhhhh, what do I do?’ And I thought, ‘It’s okay. It’s about the moment and what we’re celebrating. I can wear anything, and I’ll be happy that we’re getting married’.”

However, upon discovering the theft, the ‘Bachelorette’ star returned to the bridal store where she had bought the dress and explained her situation.

They were quick to help her, and within three days she had been given a brand-new dress that had been fully altered to her specifications.

“Basically, within three days, I got a brand-new dress altered, pressed, completely altered again in the best way, like even more fitting,” Crawley detailed.

Turns out, that was the wedding dress that was on my Pinterest board three years ago. It’s the dress of my dreams.”
