Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds is getting a little help from his wife in his vision to elevate his soccer club.

Lively’s non-alcoholic beverage company Betty Buzz has pledged to sponsor Wrexham’s training kit for the 2023-2024 season.

“Our team had, of course, heard of Wrexham AFC but once we officially learned about their refreshing vision, we knew it was the right official fit for our refreshing sparkling beverage,” Lively announced in a statement.

Reynolds and Wrexham

Reynolds and Wrexham co-owner actor Rob McElhenney acquired the team after much negotiation in early 2021 for $2.5 million — and a long list of pledges.

Not long after the Hollywood actors scooped up the team, they released a docuseries recounting the acquisition process and offering behind-the-scenes footage to fans. The documentary was a global smash hit and thus has given the team international recognition.

Before Reynolds and McElhenny took over, Wrexham wallowed in the lower ranks, out of the professional English Football League, for 15 years. Shortly after acquisition, they advanced to the fourth tier. In April, the Hollywood duo saw their side pick up a clutch victory, earning them promotion to the second tier professional ranks.

Will the Lively-Reynolds’ move to Wales?

Lively may be almost as excited about the team as her husband, as she is frequently spotted at The Racecourse Ground cheering them on, while posting her enthusiasm on social media.

However, after much speculation whether the couple would move to Wales, Reynolds had addressed the rumors.

I’ve got four kids here in New York,” Reynolds said. “We love it, but to move our entire families over there, that would be a real act of superior black belt manipulation on my part.”

“I can pull off a few things but I don’t think I could pull that off,” the Canadian actor laughed. “Both my wife and I love coming over, though. We also love going to California but we don’t live there, so you know, maybe one day - who knows?”
