BTS is gearing up to celebrate their 10 years together at a two-week-long celebration in June at various locations throughout Seoul, South Korea.

The event, called BTS Festa 2023, celebrates the 10 years since BTS made its debut in 2013, and will take place between June 12 to 25.

Between these dates, the artificial Sebit islets, Namsan Seoul Tower, City Hall, Dongdaemun Design Plaza, and the World Cup Bridge will be lit-up in the color purple in honor of the boy band, whose official color is purple.

While the group has celebrated the anniversary of its debut every June 13, the 10th-year anniversary is sure to bring a bigger celebration, which has been presented under the slogan ‘BTS PRESENTS EVERYWHERE’ in a recent teaser video for the event.

The teaser specifies that a main event will take place on June 17 at Yeouido Hangang Park, and will be open to the public.

When did BTS debut?

BTS (Bulletproof Boy Scouts) has seven members, consisting of three rappers, RM, j-Jope and SUGA, and four singers, Jung Kook, Jimin, V and Jin.

They made their debut on June 12th, 2013, when their first music video for the song ‘No More Dream’ was released from their debut album ‘2 Cool 4 Skool’ on YouTube. But the band made their first public appearance together on June 13, performing the single on the music program ‘M Countdown’.

Since then, the band has reached international acclaim, particularly when their 2017 single ‘DNA’ became a hit in the United States.

The band has also grown a loyal fanbase called ‘ARMY’ which stands for “Adorable Representative M.C. for Youth”.

In the time since their debut, BTS has become the first K-pop act to have their music reach the number one spot on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and the Billboard 200 albums chart.

Individual members of BTS have also earned success. Most recently, Jimin broke the record as the most streamed K-pop artist on Spotify, surpassing the success of his fellow BTS member Jungkook.

His single ‘Like Crazy’ from his debut album ‘Face’, both released in March, became the fastest K-pop single to hit 300 million streams on Spotify.
