January 14 2024 is the day that the 29th annual Critics Choice Awards will take place, and the nominations have now been revealed. Chelsea Handler will once again host the ceremony.
Greta Gerwig’s Barbie: The Movie leads the Critics Choice Awards nominations for a film with a record-breaking 18 , the highest number of any film in the history of the awards, beating “Everything Everywhere All at Once” and “The Shape of Water” which both managed 14.
Best Director and Best Picture were among the nominations, as well as Actress (Margot Robbie), Supporting Actor (Ryan Gosling (supporting actor), Supporting Actress (America Ferrera (supporting actress). The film also received three nominations for the Original Song award, with Dance the Night , I’m Just Ken and What Was I Made For? chosen.
Oppenheimer , Barbie’s main competitor at the time of release, received 13 nominations, as did the film Poor Things .
