Don’t miss out this Memorial Day weekend: These 5 movies are leaving Netflix on June 1

These five fantastic films are all saying farewell to Netflix very soon.

Born in Leeds, Joe finished his Spanish degree in 2018 before becoming an English teacher to football (soccer) players and managers, as well as collaborating with various football media outlets in English and Spanish. He joined AS in 2022 and covers both the men’s and women’s game across Europe and beyond.
Update:

Netflix is set to do the usual thing and bin off plenty of fabulous films this weekend. But it’s not all bad news, as there are not many better times during the calendar that give you such a good chance to sit back, relax and feast your eyes on the television than this weekend. A Memorial Day well spent.

Here’s a look at all the films that are set to depart from Netflix on June 1:

Cult of Chucky (2017)

Cult of Chucky (2017) is the seventh installment in the Child’s Play franchise, directed by Don Mancini. The film continues the story of Nica Pierce, now confined to a mental institution after being blamed for Chucky’s murders. As patients and staff begin dying mysteriously, Nica realises the killer doll has returned—this time, with the ability to possess multiple bodies.

Featuring Fiona Dourif, Brad Dourif, and Jennifer Tilly, Cult of Chucky blends psychological horror with slasher thrills.

Den of Thieves (2018)

Den of Thieves (2018) is a gritty crime thriller directed by Christian Gudegast, starring Gerard Butler, Pablo Schreiber, and O’Shea Jackson Jr. Set in Los Angeles, the film follows an elite unit of the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department as they track a crew of highly skilled ex-military bank robbers planning a massive heist on the Federal Reserve.

Ma (2019)

Ma (2019) is a psychological horror-thriller directed by Tate Taylor and starring Octavia Spencer in a chilling, against-type role.

The story follows a group of teenagers who befriend a seemingly lonely woman named Sue Ann, who lets them party in her basement. As they grow more comfortable, her behaviour turns obsessive and disturbing, revealing a dark past and a twisted desire for revenge.

Ramayya Vasthavayya (2013)

Ramayya Vasthavayya (2013) is a Telugu-language action-romance film directed by Harish Shankar and starring N. T. Rama Rao Jr., Samantha Ruth Prabhu, and Shruti Haasan. The film follows Nandu, a charming and carefree college student who falls for a girl named Akarsha. While it received praise for NTR Jr.’s performance and songs, it had a mixed critical reception overall.

Unhinged (2020)

Unhinged (2020) is a psychological action-thriller directed by Derrick Borte and starring Russell Crowe in a menacing role. The film centers on a single mother who becomes the target of a violent, unrelenting stranger after a road rage incident. What follows is a tense, escalating series of confrontations as Crowe’s character spirals into madness, turning an ordinary day into a nightmare.
