Ed Sheeran is back on social media after a two month break.

Back in November 2022, the ‘Shivers’ singer revealed that he would be taking a social media break by putting out a simple post of him standing on a boulder by the ocean captioned: “Signing off now until 2023. See you in the new year. Much love, Ed x”

Since then Sheeran has only been online to announce his latest single ‘F64′, which came out on January 19. Now, to the pleasure of music fans, the Grammy-award winning singer announced his return to social media.

In the video, Sheeran opens up about how he feels he hasn’t been “engaged” with his fans over the years online, and even gave fans a reason behind what caused his social media break in the first place.

“I realize I haven’t been that engaged in my social media or my fan base online over the last couple of years,” Sheeran said in the video. “The reason I’m making this video is, just being totally honest, I’ve had some turbulent things going on in my personal life.

“I just didn’t really feel like being online and pretending to be something I’m not, when I wasn’t feeling like that. And I know that sounds weird. But things are looking up and I’m back online.

A short history of Sheeran’s past few years

Sheeran has definitely had a busy and “turbulent” past few years.

After dating Cherry Seaborn for around four years, the couple finally got married and secretly tied the knot in January 2019.

In August 2020, the ‘Shape of You’ singer and his wife welcomed their first child Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran, and Ed revealed he thought about quitting music to have more family time in his life.

“Music is entirely me as a person, and then I had my daughter — well, my wife had our daughter, but I’m a parent,” Sheeran told SiriusXM.

“And then I was like, ‘That’s it, this is me, I’m just going to be a dad, I’m not going to play music anymore.’”

Then in May 2022, the happy couple celebrated the birth of their second child, Jupiter Seaborn Sheeran.

Sheeran is back on tour

Back in October 2022, Sheeran announced that he would be heading back on the road for his “Mathematics tour.”

The show currently has 21 dates, scheduled for May 6 to September 23, with more international dates coming in the future. Tickets are available now on his website.

Sheeran also revealed that artists such as Khalid, Russ, Dylan, Rosa Linn, Cat Burns and Maisie Peters would be joining him as opening acts on the tour.
