Update:

Meghan Markle’s new eight-part lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan, hit screens this week, in which she invites people to a luxurious Montecito farmhouse and plays out being the perfect hostess - although as some critics have noted, perhaps not with the mostest.

It’s about connecting with friends, and just learning‚” gushes Meghan as she teaches us how to assemble a “fruit rainbow” using strawberries, pineapple, kiwi... She even gives us a top tip - if unlike her you are on a budget, don’t worry, you can always make a smaller version with just one line of fruit.

All eight episodes are now available to stream on Netflix - in them, we see her A-list friends helping her to share advice on cooking, cleaning and throwing an al fresco get together.

Meghan’s party guests join in the fun

Meghan’s first guest the first half-hour episode Hello, Honey! is New York-based make-up artist Daniel Martin, who she has known for over a decade. They worked together on legal drama series Suits back in 2011.

Office actor Mindy Kaling appears in episode two. In episode three, chef Roy Choi rustles up some Asian classics: tempura fried chicken, kimchi and pickled vegetables.

Nacho Figueras' wife Defi Figueras pops by in episode four in which they prepare Italian focaccia and pasta salad. Episode five sees Meghan sit down for a ladies lunch with her pals Abigail Spencer and Kelly McKee Zajfen.

And finally, in the final episode, Meghan’s husband, Prince Harry, and her mother Doria join the frivolity out in the garden.

Critics and viewers have had their say and it’s not all positive. One reviews slammed it “an exercise in narcissism” while others have questioned who the program is actually aimed at as most of us don’t have such a lavish lifestyle. The Times criticized Markle for showcasing “her extreme wealth and incredibly exclusive lifestyle as if it were accessible to anyone.”

The Guardian claims that it is “so pointless that it could be the Sussexes' last TV show” and “might also be the last thing they do for Netflix” if it does not exceed the low viewership expectations.
