Update:

We now know when the ‘Futurama’ revival will debut on Hulu.

New episodes of the famed sci-fi animated series will hit the streaming platform on July 24. From there new episodes will be released weekly on Mondays thereafter in what is officially the show’s eighth season (or Season 11 depending on how you break things down).

In total, the season will consist of 10 episodes.

“New viewers will be able to pick up the series from here, while long-time fans will recognize payoffs to decades-long mysteries – including developments in the epic love story of Fry and Leela, the mysterious contents of Nibbler’s litter box, the secret history of evil Robot Santa, and the whereabouts of Kif and Amy’s tadpoles,” reads an official synopsis of the upcoming season.

“Meanwhile there’s a whole new pandemic in town as the crew explores the future of vaccines, bitcoin, cancel culture, and streaming TV.”

Along with revealing the premiere date, a teaser for the new season was also released. You can check it out below.

The revival is the second time the show has been brought back since its original debut back in 1999.

The series was created by Matt Groening and developed with David X. Cohen. Both serve as executive producers along with Ken Keeler and Claudia Katz, with Rough Draft Studios providing the animation. 20th Television Animation is the studio behind the series.

‘Futurama’ appeared on Fox for four seasons, with reruns as part of the Adult Swim lineup on Cartoon Network and DVD giving it new life.

This opened the door for four direct-to-video films to be produced. They were later re-edited and made into a fifth season, which aired on Comedy Central starting in 2008.
