Have Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Sam Taylor-Johnson split up? Here’s what we know
Aaron and Sam Taylor-Johnson have been caught in split rumors after the actor was spotted without his wedding ring.
On various social media platforms, but mainly on X, a rumor is circulating that actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson has separated from director Sam Taylor-Johnson after 12 years of marriage.
Speculations were fueled after the Bullet Train star was spotted without his wedding ring. However, neither Aaron nor Sam have confirmed or denied the rumors.
The couple has been the subject of criticism for years for their age difference, as the English film director is 23 years older than him. On the other hand, both began dating when he was 18 years old.
Aaron and Sam Taylor-Johnson’s relationship
Aaron Taylor-Johnson, now 34, met Sam, 57, on the set of Nowhere Boy, the John Lennon biopic that Sam directed and starred Aaron, who was 18 at the time, in the leading role as the Beatle in his formative years.
After filming wrapped, in 2009, the actor proposed to Sam. In 2010, the newly engaged couple confirmed that they were expecting their first child together. They welcomed their first child, daughter Wylda Rae, on July 8, 2010 in London. The couple celebrated the arrival of their second daughter, Romy Hero on January 18, 2012.
On June 21, 2012, the couple tied the knot in Somerset, England. The couple celebrated a decade of marriage with a vow renewal ceremony on June 21, 2022, surrounded by their loved ones.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson on the age difference with Sam Taylor-Johnson
In March of this year, in an interview with Rolling Stone UK, the actor addressed the criticism and explained that he began his career at an early age, advancing certain stages of his life. “What you have to realise is that what most people were doing in their twenties, I did when I was 13”.
As for the public’s reaction to their relationship, he added: “You’re doing something too quickly for someone else? I don’t understand that. What speed are you supposed to enjoy life at? It’s bizarre to me”.
In 2017, the Brit told Vulture: “The attention was intrusive. But having to deal with that early in my career probably got me to a place where I can more quickly say, ‘Oh, f*** it,’ instead of wanting to rip someone’s head off for asking questions I don’t like.”
