The British Royal Family was back in the eye of a storm as far as their relationship with Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, is concerned. While it has long been suggested that the former actress is not on the best of terms with father-in-law King Charles III and brother-in-law Prince William, she received another snub from the House of Windsor, as pointed out by British newspaper Mirror.

The Suits star celebrated her 42nd birthday on Aug. 4, 2023 in the company of husband, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, seemingly ending speculation of a possible rift between the pair. The couple enjoyed a romantic night together on Thursday, but congratulatory social media messages from the Royal Family were conspicuous by their absence.

The Royal Family “forgot” Markle’s 42nd birthday...for the first time

“No online birthday wishes? So what?” you may ask. However, this was the first year in which the Duchess of Sussex received no such messages, with various of the family’s social media accounts in the habit of wishing its members a happy birthday with a photo and a short message, normally first thing in the morning (UK time).

In 2022, when Queen Elizabeth II was still alive, the Prince and Princess of Wales, as well as King Charles and Camilla, had taken the time to dedicate posts to Markle from different accounts online.
