More than 20 years have passed since the iconic Christmas film ‘Love Actually’ was first released, bringing together many of the most beloved names in cinema.

The likes of Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson, Alan Rickman, Kiera Knightly and Liam Neeson have all enjoyed huge success across their careers, but many will be just as well-known for their parts in the festive ensemble piece. That also goes for those who were involved in smaller roles.

Rodrigo Santoro was 28 years old when he starred as Karl, the obsession of Laura Linney’s character, Sarah. Two colleagues, Karl and Sarah admired each other from a distance until meeting at a work Christmas party.

After prompted by a colleague at the graphic design company, Karl and Sarah finally connect but their attempts at love are cut short by a family emergency.

What does Rodrigo Santoro do in 2024?

Rio de Janeiro-born Santoro is an actor, voice actor and model and continues to work and has been in a number of well-known television series in recent years.

He featured on HBO’s ‘Westworld’ from 2016 to 2020, playing Hector Escaton in the smash hit series. The debut episode recorded the network’s highest viewership for a premiere since the first episode of ‘True Detective’ was aired in 2014.

He playing Garriga in the 2015 thriller ‘Focus’, alongside Will Smith and Margot Robbie. In 2021 he appeared in two films, ‘Save Ralph’ and ‘7 Prisoners’, the latter being premiered at the 78th Venice International Film Festival.
