“We are thrilled to have Jimmy return as host and Molly return as executive producer of the Oscars. They share our love of movies and our commitment to producing a dynamic and entertaining program for our global audience,” Academy CEO Bill Kramer and President Janet Yang said in a statement. “We are deeply grateful to Jimmy, Molly and their teams for their incredible creativity and partnership and for taking this journey with us again.”

When his role at the ceremony was announced, Kimmel quipped: “I always dreamed of hosting the Oscars exactly four times.”

Jimmy Kimmel’s Oscars earnings

In an interview with Wanda Sykes in 2022, Kimmel revealed that the exact amount he had been paid for previous hosting duties: $15,000. That’s a very good fee for a one-night job, but hosting duties at the Oscars requires months of work and planning. We don’t know exactly how much Kimmel will earn for the job at this year’s edition but it’s fair to assume he’ll be recompensed in a similar fashion.

That $15,000 is many months’ salary for most people watching on at home, but it represents just a tiny proportion of the television hosts’ total net worth. According to Celebrity Net Worth, Kimmel has a net worth of around $50 million.

That same publication suggests that he earns an annual salary of $15 million for hosting the late-night comedy show ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ on ABC. He is also known for participating in productions such as ‘The Man Show’ and ‘Win Ben’s Steins Money’. In fact he was also the recipient of an Emmy Award for Best Variety Special for ‘Live In Front Of A Studio Audience’. The first special was aired in May 2019 and was seen by 10.4 million viewers.
