How Taylor Swift made good on a promise to a young burn survivor

Taylor Swift has made good on a promise she made to a fan five years ago.

The singer kicked off her ‘Eras Tour’ with back-to-back shows at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona over the weekend.

Swift’s performance, which lasted over three hours and featured a 44-song setlist, was well-received by those in attendance, with the likes of Emma Stone and J.J. Watt showing their appreciation.

However, there was one special fan in attendance who had been waiting since 2018 to see Swift live on stage.

Isabella McCune was a special guest of Swift’s after the singer gifted her four free tickets to night two at the State Farm Stadium.

The 13-year-old was set to see Swift perform during her ‘Reputation Tour’ five years ago, but in the lead up to the show, she was involved in an accident that left her hospitalized for nine months.

According to ABC 15, she suffered burns to 65 percent of her body. Isabella listened to Swift’s music to help her get through the ordeal, with the singer eventually visiting her in the hospital.

“Isabella, I hope you feel better soon. I’m so honored you’ve been listening to my music,” read a note Swift left for Isabella as she recovered from her accident.

“You’re so awesome and I can’t wait to have you at a show. Stay strong, gorgeous. Love, Taylor.”

Swift had to wait before delivering on that promise however, as her ‘Lover Fest Tour’, which was scheduled for the summer of 2020, was cancelled due to the global coronavirus pandemic.

However now, five years later, Swift finally managed to follow up on that promise with the help of Live 101.5 and the Valleywise Health Foundation.

Swift and her team gifted McCune with four tickets to her show, which no doubt meant a lot to the young 13-year-old.

“Not only the fact that I’m able to go and I got these tickets gifted to me, they’re from Taylor Swift and her team and they remembered me, and thought of me to give me these tickets,” McCune told ABC 15.
