As per TMZ, Paris Hilton received the rare invitation to the 2023 Met Gala from Vogue editor-in-chief — and the curator of the guestlist — fashion mogul Anna Wintour.

This will be the first year the ‘Stars Are Blind’ singer has ever been to the Met Gala, and it is unknown why she has never gone before.

Wintour has been the chair of the Met Gala committee since 1995; it could be that this was the heiress’ first invite, or that this is the first year Paris Hilton has determined to grace New York high society with her glamorous presence.

Additionally, Hilton had a solid friendship with Karl Lagerfield, and the 2023 Met Gala theme is ‘Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty’.

The theme of Paris Hilton’s first-ever Meta Gala is fitting for the heiress, who was a friend of Karl Lagerfield. The fashion designer’s life’s work is the theme of the 2023 benefit ball.

Hilton and Lagerfield had a long-standing working relationship with the late designer, and often attended his events — most notably in 2006 when Paris Hilton and Kim Kardasian went together to Lagerfield and fellow designer Dom Perignon’s collaboration fashion show.

The businesswoman and part-time DJ lives in California, but will fly to New York from Washington, D.C., as she is holding a conference in the days prior to the May 1 Met Gala about her political initiatives to protect abused teenagers, the Stop Institutional Child Abuse Act.
