Is Zendaya engaged?
The actress was seen sporting what appeared to be an engagement ring in a recent Instagram story post.
After Zendaya turned heads for her vintage looks at both the 2023 NAACP Image Awards and the 2023 SAG Awards over the weekend, she also turned heads for sharing a selfie wearing what appeared to be an engagement ring on Sunday.
The ‘Euphoria’ actress shared a selfie on her Instagram stories where she was sporting a huge ring on her ring finger.
Not the first time engagement rumors have sparked
Upon closer inspection, it became clear that the image was mirrored thanks to iPhone flipping selfie perspectives, and the ring was actually on her right hand.
But this isn’t the first time that rumors of Zendaya’s engagement with her longtime boyfriend, actor Tom Holland, have made a buzz.
Back in December, Zendaya’s mom shut down rumors of her daughter’s engagement that sparked out of nowhere by posting a series of screenshots of the dictionary definition of the term “clickbait” on her Instagram stories.
Zendaya has spoken on how invasive she finds the media’s fascination with her and Holland’s relationship, calling it “quite strange and weird and confusing and invasive”.
“The equal sentiment [we both share] is just that when you really love and care about somebody, some moments or things, you wish were your own,” she told GQ.
“I think loving someone is a sacred thing and a special thing and something that you want to deal with and go through and experience and enjoy amongst the two people that love each other.”
In the same interview, Holland said: “One of the downsides of our fame is that privacy isn’t really in our control anymore, and a moment that you think is between two people that love each other very much is now a moment that is shared with the entire world.”
How long have Zendaya and Tom Holland been dating?
The couple met in 2016 on the set of ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ with Holland playing Spider Man and Zendaya playing his love interest MJ.
“We are like the best of friends. She’s so great and amazing,” Holland said of Zendaya at the time.
Fast-forward to 2021, the pair were spotted making out in a car, confirming their relationship despite their efforts to downplay the news and keep their relationship as private as possible.
