Jenna Ortega has been all about the labels lately, as the 20-year-old actress grows into her sense of style. Ortega has been associated with the likes of Versace, Saint Laurent, Gucci, and Tiffany’s, but now the ‘Wednesday’ star has a brand new campaign.

French fashion house Dior has named Ortega as the face of their fragrance, Gris Dior.

Ortega talked about the collaboration with Vogue. In the interview, Ortega expressed her enthusiasm for working with the iconic fashion brand.

“That was really exciting,” the actress said, explaining that she had an opportunity to work with fashion legends Bardia Zeinali and Mikael Jansson on the campaign.

“The bottle is also cute on its own,” she added, before elaborating. “I felt like I was really encouraged to be myself—I felt throughout the entire process that I could go with my own gut instinct and do whatever felt authentic and natural to me.”

Keeping it simple off the red carpet

Ortega said that though she likes to flaunt the luxury brands at splashy events, she usually likes to keep a pretty basic style.

“Maybe it’s because of my chaotic lifestyle, but I find myself really drawn to a more minimalist, neutral aesthetic,” the actress said. “Oftentimes, I’m away from home, so I need things that are comforting, relieving, and relaxing; clean.”

A change in Ortega’s style

It is only recently that Ortega has started to grow into her own sense of style — and her place in the world of showbiz.

“I mean, I’ve been acting for over a decade now, so I know what it’s like to not necessarily be heard or feel like I have a voice,” Ortega shared. “I kind of had a hard time growing up because I was such a people pleaser; I was so desperate to be whatever I felt people wanted me to be. And I felt like the traditional beauty standards really affected me; they didn’t always resonate with me.”

It was when she was cast as Wednesday that Ortega let go of her traditionally feminine look.

“Up until then I was really, really attached to my long hair,” Ortega explained. “Changing it encouraged me to be more adventurous; to experiment and be more creative in that way.”
