Actress Jennifer Aniston took to her Instagram to share an emotional farewell message to her friend and former colleague, Matthew Perry.
Two weeks after the untimely death of Matthew Perry, former Friends co-star Jennifer Aniston paid tribute to her friend and colleague, who passed away unexpectedly on 28 October at his residence in California.
The 54-year-old Aniston posted a message on her Instagram to her more than 44 million followers with a heartfelt message to her former co-star on the hit television show.
“Oh boy this one has cut deep... Having to say goodbye to our Matty has been an insane wave of emotions that I’ve never experienced before. We all experience loss at some point in our lives. Loss of life or loss of love. Being able to really SIT in this grief allows you to feel the moments of joy and gratitude for having loved someone that deep. And we loved him deeply.”
“I talk to you every day”
Throughout the farewell, Aniston remembers old conversations and text messages with Matt and reveals that she has acquired the habit of talking to him “every day.”
“In the last couple weeks, I’ve been pouring over our texts to one another. Laughing and crying then laughing again. I’ll keep them forever and ever. I found one text that he sent me out of nowhere one day. It says it all”, concludes the actress.
The unexpected death of Matthew Perry
Matthew Perry was found lifeless on the afternoon of 28 October at his residence in Los Angeles, California. The actor passed away at the age of 54, apparently drowning in his hot tub.
According to the police investigation, Perry arrived home in the early afternoon after spending the morning playing pickleball. Later, he sent his assistant to buy prescription glasses and a new cell phone; when the assistant returned, he found the actor lifeless in his hot tub.
The investigation into his death continues, as the results of the preliminary autopsy were “inconclusive,” and the cause of death is “deferred,” pending the results of a toxicology report.
