Joe Alwyn breaks his silence on his split from Taylor Swift: “If you let all that other stuff in you’re pretty f*cked”
The 34-year-old English actor was dating Swift from 2017 with the relationship coming to an end in 2023.

English actor Joe Alwyn is well known for his thespian career, which includes roles in films like The Favourite, Harriet, and Mary Queen of Scots.
The Tunbridge Wells native has generated attention for his sensitivity and vulnerability as an actor, as noted by director Ang Lee.
However, for many, Alwyn will always be known for his relationship with Taylor Swift, which is often referenced in her music.

The couple allegedly became an item in 2017 with their relationship lasting for six years before they split in 2023 with the split heavily references on Swift’s last studio record, The Tortured Poet’s Department.
Alwyn opens up
Speaking to the UK based The Guardian a few months ago, the actor spoke for the first time about the relationship with the American singer-songwriter.
He stated: “I have tried just to focus on controlling what I can control,” he replies. “And, right from the beginning, tried to focus on the things that are meaningful for me: friends, family, work, of course. So noise outside of that, I think I’ve done what lots of people who find themselves in the public eye do, which is just try and ignore it. If you don’t, and if you let all of that other stuff in, and if it starts to affect you and your behaviour, you’re living from the outside in. And then you’re pretty fucked.”

That sounds exhausting, I suggest. “I have great family and friends and real things in my life; those are the things that kept me tethered to the ground,” Alwyn insists. “So I don’t know how else to say it, it’s… just in a different room.”
“We’re talking about something that’s a while ago now in my life. So that’s for other people. That’s what I feel.”
