Kanye West releases Vultures 2: full tracklist, features
Ye has, after a long wait, released to follow-up to Vultures 1, his project with Ty Dolla $ign.
Kanye West has finally released his long-awaited sequel to the hugely popular Vultures 1 album. Titled Vultures 2, the 16 track project, made in collaboration with Ty Dolla $ign, was officially released on August 3. No, I’m not writing it in capital letters every time.
Some felt like it was never going to arrive, but Kanye and Ty decided to drop the project at the weekend, and the initial reviews have been mixed.
We’ve heard plenty of leaks ahead of release, and the sounds have been criticised, with songs such as 530 sounding exactly like the versions that hit the internet before release. Sound mixes are, at times, clearly demo versions; they feel rushed and even badly mixed. Kanye’s verses are not memorable and Ty Dolla $ign does not produce anything close to what we are used to.
The names on the feature list, which you can see below, are top tier in the hip-hop world, but the mixing is so blurry that at times, it’s hard to hear...
Who is the man on the cover of Vultures 2?
The cover of Vultures 2, similar to Vultures 1, shows a man in blacked-out clothing holding a photo of another person. The person in question is, according to Genius, Big TC, Ty Dolla $ign’s older brother: “In 2004, TC began serving a life sentence for a murder charge he alleges to be innocent of”.
Will Kanye West remaster and rerelease Vultures 2?
The rumours are that he will remaster, remix and eventually rerelease Vultures 2, which clearly sounds unfinished. However, nothing has been confirmed and at the moment, the main rumours seem to be coming from people with Kanye West online avatars who ‘actually like the album’, after repeated listens.
Kanye fans will undoubtedly love it, and call it another masterpiece, despite lyrics such as “She said she starvin’, order her some fries / Then I ate the breast, then the thighs”...
Compared to Vultures 1, the second project feels like a huge let down, although many people predicted that the follow-up would indeed be a washed out and rushed project. Have a listen and let us know what you think.
