Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins joined Kelly Clarkson on stage at the 12th Annual NFL Honors to sing their own version of Clarkson’s hit song ‘Since You’ve Been Gone.”

Cousins arrived on stage telling Clarkson, who was the host of the show, “I’m sorry, Kelly. I just wanted to sing one quick tribute song to Tom Brady, on behalf of all the other quarterbacks in the league.” Before breaking into a special rendition of Clarkson’s song.

“Tom’s won seven times went to ten he’s on some beach so maybe Kirk could win,” Cousins began before Clarkson interrupted him.

“That doesn’t really sound like a tribute, it kind of sounds like you’re happy Brady is gone because it gives you and the other teams a better shot,” she said on stage. “And I am totally for this. I think Brady’s retirement is good for him, great for us.”

She took over the mantle of the humorous cover, singing, “‘Cause now that he’s gone, teams have hope for the first time, Brady’s moving on yeah yeah, for the GOAT, that’s a wrap, now he just posts thirst traps, now that he’s gone.
