Kourtney Kardashian responds to backlash over bathroom feast
The reality TV star recently faced criticism for posting a photo of food on her bathroom floor
Kourtney Kardashian is stirring up controversy this week over an Instagram photo. After the Poosh founder posted a photo of plates of food on her bathroom floor, hundreds of people took to the comment section to criticize her place of dining.
The reality TV star included the photo in a photo carousel posted to Instagram where she included several other photos of herself both eating, washing her face, and posing for the camera.
The photo in question was a bird’s eye view shot of her filled pink bubbly bathtub with a series of plates of half-eaten food and champagne bottles scattered along the floor and on top of the toilet seat.
The foods included appear to be pancakes, vegan chicken wings, fruity desserts, and a half-eaten burger alongside bottles of champagne and a glass of water. Towels, a salt and pepper shaker, and other ceramic glassware also litter the floor surrounding the bath.
The Backlash
Viewers of the photo quickly flocked to the comment section to voice their opinion on the act of eating in the bathroom.
“Food on the toilet that’s nasty,” one commenter wrote which amassed over 3,000 likes.
Another commenter wrote, “That bathroom scene is what nightmares are made of.”
“Food in the bathroom is not the move,” another commenter wrote along with a vomiting emoji.
However, some commenters came to Kardashian’s defense. One commenter wrote, “The bathroom in the photo with food isn’t even the same one she is taking a bath in. It’s just a photo geeze.”
Kourtney’s response
The Kardashian expressed her annoyance with the comments by reposting the photo to her story with the caption “the comments about this photo” along with 10 swirly eye emojis.
She also posted a sneak peek of the photoshoot that the bathroom behind-the-scenes shot was from. In the story post, she and her husband Travis Baker are seen eating and drinking champagne in the bath together.
She also tagged the photographer behind the shoot, which is for Baker’s partnership with Daring Foods. The photo shoot also features a shot of them in bed with another array of half-eaten plates accompanying them on the bedsheets.
