$13M+ penthouse that Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost have bought in this elite area of New York

On top of their presence in front of the cameras, Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost also seem to know a thing or two about real estate. According to reports in the Wall Street Journal, the couple recently purchased a luxury six-bedroom penthouse apartment on New York City’s exclusive Park Avenue for $13 million.

The prewar penthouse in Manhattan’s Carnegie Hill neighborhood, a stone’s throw from Central Park, sprawled out over three floors, boasts five terraces and eight balconies. A private elevator allows them zip from floor to floor, and access a roomy, south-facing central gallery with floor-to-ceiling French windows and basked in natural light for most of the day.

It connects to a living room, furnished with parquet de Versailles wooden floors, Venetian plastered walls and a cosy, white marble fireplace.

The apartment was originally put on the market in 2018 for an eye-watering $27.5 million. During the past couple of years the property underwent a substantial makeover, but even with the cost of renovation work, the A-list couple were able to buy a new home, right in the heart of New York City for less than half the original listed price. It is believed that the previous owners purchased the penthouse in 2006 for the same price that Johansson and Jost paid - $13 million.

Born and bred in Manhattan, Johansson has owned several homes in Los Angeles, New York City and the Hamptons. Jost, who grew up in Staten Island, has owned properties in his home city and also in the Hamptons.

Splitting time between New York City and LA

The couple married in October 2020 and during their five years together have tried to keep their private life away from the prying eyes of the media. Their son Cosmo was born n August 2021. Scarlett has a daughter, Rose Dorothy from her previous marriage to French journalist Romain Dauriac.
