Kylie Jenner speaks out after accusations she mocked Selena Gomez

It seems the two women are on the same page after fans thought Kylie Jenner was throwing shade at Selena Gomez on social media.

Kylie Jenner isn’t interested in the rumors suggesting she mocked Selena Gomez’s appearance on social media.

What set off the speculation?

It all stems from a TikTok video Gomez posted in which she admitted she laminated her eyebrows “too much”.

However, fans noted that Jenner and Hailey Bieber, who is married to Gomez’s ex Justin Bieber, posted Instagram stories about their own brows just hours later.

Jenner wrote “this was an accident?” over one of her brows, and later shared a screenshot of her on FaceTime with Bieber, which zoomed in on both of their brows.

This prompted one user to hit out at the timing of the post, calling it childish.

Jenner clears the air

Jenner has since spoken out over the matter, saying it was never her intention to throw any sort of shade at Gomez.

“This is reaching,” Jenner wrote. “No shade towards Selena ever and I didn’t see her eyebrow posts! U guys are making something out of nothing. This is silly.”

Gomez has also chimed in on the matter, throwing her support behind Jenner.

“Agreed @kyliejenner. It’s all unnecessary. I’m a fan of Kylie!,” Gomez responded.

Gomez overtakes Jenner on Instagram

The comments come on the same day that Gomez retook her spot as the most-followed woman on Instagram, a spot previously held by Jenner.

Gomez was the most-followed woman on the social media platform before leaving for a short period of time. She’s come back stronger surpassing Jenner, with both women having nearly 400 million followers as of Thursday.

Gomez recently stated that her Instagram account is handled by her team, and that the only social media platform she has on her phone is TikTok.

“The only thing I have on my phone is TikTok because I find it to be a little less hostile. There are wonderful things about social media—connecting with fans, seeing how happy and excited they are and their stories,” she told Vanity Fair.

“But usually that’s filtered through [for me now]. I created a system. Everything I do I send to my assistant who posts them. As far as comments, my team will put together a few things that are encouraging.”
