Morgan Wallen’s late cancellation at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Mississippi over the weekend continues to make headlines, with the country star’s label now responding to claims as to why the show was called off.

Morgan Wallen’s label responds to claims he was ‘too drunk’

The 29-year-old was set to take the stage on Sunday night after opening acts Hardy, Ernest and Sam Smith had already performed.

However, those in attendance were left stunned when a message appeared on the video board telling the 60,000 fans that Wallen had lost his voice minutes before taking the stage.

However, a TikTok user uploaded a video of a security guard telling fans at the show that the reason Wallen wasn’t performing was because he was allegedly drunk and “couldn’t walk.”

The security guard adds that “losing his voice is bullcrap”, with the video having been viewed over 3.7 million times since it was uploaded.

The security company posted an Instagram story on Monday denying those claims, writing: “A hired employee of BEST Crowd Management made false claims as it related to last night’s Morgan Wallen concert and we do not stand behind the detail in his statement.”

The CEO and co-founder of Wallen’s record label, Seth England of Big Loud Records, reposted the message while adding: “Thank you @bestcrowdmanagement for correcting your employee, who made up an entire story that was nowhere close to true. Every detail was false.

“Laughable what some people will just say for a reaction.”

Wallen’s cancellation left fans fuming

Fans in attendance were promised full ticket refunds, but many have made it clear they aren’t happy with how things went down.

Mandi Walker Nowlin took to Facebook to express her disappointment, while also breaking down all her costs for the show.

“Since you’re offering refunds … here is our itemized bill for you,” her Facebook caption read, while adding that her expenses ranged from her hotel bill ($560) to a meal for her and her husband at Oxford Grillehouse ($235).

In total, the couple spent $3,982 for the show, with Nowlin including her Cash App to receive payment.

Another fan sued Wallen on Monday, though the lawsuit was voluntarily dismissed on Tuesday. Attorneys explained that they plan to refile it as a class action.
