S Club 7 member Paul Cattermole has passed away at the age of 46.

The news comes after the British pop band announced back in February that they would be reuniting for a 25th anniversary tour in the fall.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved son and brother Paul Cattermole,” read a statement from his family and the pop group as per the BBC.

Details regarding Cattermole’s passing

Cattermole was found on April 6 at his home in Dorset, and was pronounced dead later that day. The cause of death is still unknown, but there are no suspicious circumstances.

“While the cause of death is currently unknown, Dorset Police has confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances. Paul’s family, friends and fellow members of S Club request privacy at this time,” read a statement.

Cattermole and S Club 7

S Club 7, created by former Spice Girls manager Simon Fuller, were one of the biggest pop acts of the late 1990s and early 2000s, with hits like ‘Reach’, ‘Don’t Stop Movin’' and ‘S Club Party’.

The band are set to reunite for a 25th anniversary tour with an 11-date tour around the U.K. and Ireland in the fall. Remaining members include Tina Barrett, Jon Lee, Hannah Spearritt, Bradley McIntosh, Rachel Stevens and Jo O’Meara.

Cattermole and Spearritt dated for five years while in the band, and reportedly dated once again in 2015.

He left S Club 7 in 2002 and formed his own rock band, Skua, which broke up after a year. Cattermole later rejoined S Club for its 2014 reunion.

S Club 7 devastated by Cattermole’s passing

S Club 7 wrote a message on the group’s official Instagram page, stating they were “devastated” by news of Cattermole’s death.

“We are truly devastated by the passing of our brother Paul,” wrote the band. “There are no words to describe the deep sadness and loss we all feel. We were so lucky to have had him in our lives and are thankful for the amazing memories we have.

“He will be so deeply missed by each and every one of us. We ask that you respect the privacy of his family and of the band at this time.”
