23-time Grand Slam winner Serena Williams has become a mother for the second time. The tennis icon revealed via her TikTik account that she had given birth to her second child with husband, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian. “Welcome, my beautiful angel,” read a short text accompanying the minute-long video.

What is Serena Williams’ second daughter called?

In the clip, Williams, 41, and Ohanian, 40, are seen sitting alongside eldest daughter Olympia before Serena goes out of shot and comes back with the newest member of the family, a second little girl who Alexis later revealed was called Adira River.

Williams’ post has unsurprisingly been viewed millions of times, with thousands getting in touch via the comments section to send their best wishes. The multiple major winner announced her retirement from tennis in September 2022 due to her desire to have more children.

Pregnant Williams wins 2017 Australian Open

Williams and Ohanian met in May 2015 when they were staying at the same hotel in Rome. After a couple of dates, the pair quickly decided to make their relationship official.

A little over a year later, the couple got engaged in December 2016 and married the following November, by which time they’d already welcomed Olympia into the world. In April 2017, Williams revealed on Snapchat she was 20 weeks pregnant, which meant she was eight weeks pregnant when she won the 2017 Australian Open, her last ever Grand Slam victory.

Olympia was born at St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida in September and, nearly six years later, has now become a big sister.
