Taylor Swift and No. 13: Kate Hudson and Jimmy Fallon reveal connections to ‘Penny Lane’ and ‘Almost Famous’
Musicians have long been fascinated by numerology. With her cryptic messages, what was Taylor Swift trying to tell us at Super Bowl LVII?

Many well known musicians have been fascinated by or acutely aware of the numbers that constantly crop up in their lives.
John Lennon knew very well that the number 9 had a special significance for him - he was born on the 9th and sadly, also died on the 9th (due to the time difference in the UK, his birthplace). His childhood home was 9 Newcastle Road and by sheer coincidence (or not...), his son Sean was born on his birthday - the 9th.
Fascination with numbers and their meaning
Elvis Presley had an interest in numerology and would regularly thumb through his personal copy of Chiero’s Book of Numbers, looking for answers, trying to make sense of his numerical charts and what they meant for his destiny.
And it appears that Taylor Swift also has an avid interest in her own numbers and what influence they could be having on her life.
Astrologers might claim that the Cruel Summer songstress’ core numbers are 7, 4, 6, 1 and 3. But during her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this week, Kate Hudson insisted that the number 13 looms large in Taylor’s life and revealed several strange connections with that number.
Fallon was keen to talk about Swift’s appearance at the recent Super Bowl when she rocked up wearing a sheepskin Afghan coat very similar to the one Hudson’s character Penny Lane wore in Almost Famous.

What links Almost Famous, the Beatles and Taylor Swift?
All of a sudden, Penny Lane, Almost Famous and the number 13 started trending on social media.
“This was very exciting,” Hudson exclaimed. “She wore the Penny Lane coat, and then there was this whole Easter egg thing... with 13″.
Fallon went on to explain the connections: “Almost Famous came out on September 13th 2000. And the Beatles' song Penny Lane was release on February 13th 1967..."
“It’s getting kinda weird!” Hudson gasped.
“And Taylor favorite number is 13, what is she telling us?!” a bemused Fallon asked.
Given Swift’s history of teasing the public with cryptic, hidden meanings which her fans must then try to unravel, there was plenty of speculation about what message the singer was trying to get across at the Super Bowl.
Not that it mattered much, her beloved Chiefs and boyfriend Travis Kelce ended losing the game and missing out on the title. Who knows, maybe on this occasion the stars were just not aligned - whether she wore her Penny Lane coat or not.
