A beaming Taylor Swift receives her award from Phoebe Bridgers at the iHeartRadio 2023 Music Awards on March 27th. While still on her Eras Tour, the star flew over to Los Angeles decked out in a chic ensemble that made the whole place sparkle.

The singer-songwriter received the Innovator award given to artists who have “impacted global pop culture through their career”. After Swift’s legendary Billboards 200 record-breaking history for the April 1st list and her sold-out American tour, this month is shaping up to be quite the success for T-Swift.

Shining bright in more ways than one

Taylor Swift was handed the award by her pal Phoebe Bridgers, who also happens to be her tour-mate. She thanked iHeartRadio in her speech by saying, “thank you for shining a light on the choices I made that worked out, the ones that turned out to be good ideas.”

I try as hard as I can, not to fail, ‘cause it’s embarrassing, but I do give myself permission to, and you should too. So, go easy on yourselves and just make the right choices that feel right for you. And someday, someone might think that you’ve been innovative. Thank you so much for this,” says Swift.

Pal Phoebe Bridgers introduces Taylor Swift with a heartfelt story about finding her music as a young girl and growing up with her songs heard on the radio.

“I heard a girl not much older than me singing a song about her own life, and that song was really good,” she said. “Taylor has always told the truth. She’s written songs from exactly where she is. Her music shifted genre in the same way life does—in the same way being 16 is totally incomparable to being 18, 22, 25, 28. I’m grateful that I’ve grown up in a world with Taylor Swift in it. Or, ‘The World (Taylor’s Version).’”

Swift also won Song of the Year for “Anti-Hero,” accepting the award from Ice Spice and PinkPantheress.
