‘The End of Oak Street’ release date, trailer and cast: Ewan McGregor and Anne Hathaway travel to prehistory
David Robert Mitchell is at the helm of this ambitious science fiction project.

Science fiction fans have plenty to look forward to. In addition to the highly anticipated release of Dune: Part 3 later this year, another exciting film will hit theaters several months earlier: The End of Oak Street, set to premiere on August 14, 2026. The project looks extremely promising, with David Robert Mitchell, the acclaimed director of It Follows, at the helm.
The End of Oak Street follows a couple played by Ewan McGregor (Star Wars) and Anne Hathaway (Interstellar), who confront a bizarre phenomenon when they discover that the neighborhood they live in has traveled back in time—all the way to prehistory. No one knows exactly what happened, though seeing dinosaurs running across their front porch is a clear sign that something is seriously wrong. Beyond this premise, little else is known about the film, except that J.J. Abrams is producing.

In addition to these upcoming releases, 2026 is already shaping up to be notable for science fiction with Project Hail Mary, Ryan Gosling’s sci-fi film that is now in theaters and has just entered Letterboxd’s Top 100. Without a doubt, it promises to be a year that will delight fans of the genre.
