Melanie Lynskey isn’t someone to mess with. The actress recently shut down a negative tweet from America’s Next Top Model season 1 winner Adrianne Curry.

The model was critical of Lynskey’s body type not suiting her role on ‘The Last of Us.’

In a now-deleted tweet, the model said, “Her body says life of luxury...not post apocolyptic [sic] warlord. where is linda hamilton when you need her?” Her tweet was commenting on a photo of Lynskey from an InStyle magazine cover shoot that Curry had uploaded on her account.

Lynskey fired back, taking a screenshot of the tweet saying that the photo had nothing to do with ‘The Last of Us,’ and that “I am supposed to be SMART, ma’am. I don’t need to be muscly. That’s what henchmen are for.”

Following her comeback against Curry, Lynskey published a series of tweets grateful to be working with Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, and for her role in ‘The Last of Us’ where she plays the unassuming villain Kathleen Coghlan, a ruthless leader of a revolutionary movement in Kansas City.

“Women, and especially women in leadership positions, are scrutinized incessantly,” she wrote. “Her voice is too shrill. Her voice is too quiet. She pays too much attention to how she looks.

“She doesn’t pay enough attention to how she looks. She’s too angry. She’s not angry enough.”

Curry was later criticized for her words, but doubled down on her stance, saying that she was merely critical of Lynskey’s character, not her body.

She later accused Lynskey of cropping out of her screenshot her comments on her “hourglass figure.”

Lynskey has faced criticism of her body before

Lynskey is unfortunately no stranger to judgment on her physical appearance.

On the 2000 set of ‘Coyote Ugly’ Lynskey recalled: “All the girls had this regimen they had to go on. It was ridiculous,” she explained in a Hollywood Reporter interview, “I was already starving myself and as thin as I could possibly be for this body, and I was still a [size] four.”

She recalls that the costume designer had encouraged her to wear Spanx before telling Lynskey, “Nobody told me there would be girls like you.”

Catch Lynskey in Episode 5 of ‘The Last of Us’ on Friday.
