This November 14, the preliminary gala of Miss Universe 2024 was held in Mexico City, where the Top 30 of the competition were selected. During this event, in addition to the swimsuit parade, the beauty queens showcased their national costumes, which hold various meanings to represent their respective countries.

Among this year’s 130 participants is Alma Cooper, the representative of the United States, who serves as a second lieutenant and military intelligence officer in the U.S. Army. “After graduating in the top 5% of her class at West Point, she was given the opportunity to pursue a master’s degree in data science at Stanford University as a Knight Hennessy scholar,” her biography states.
