Update:

Timothée Chalamet teased his upcoming film in a bizarre, viral Instagram Live this week - but it wasn’t only the off-the-wall promo that got Chalamet fans talking. It was the Hollywood star’s new haircut.

Ahead of the release of Marty Supreme, a movie loosely based on the life of the table tennis player Marty Reisman, Chalamet shared a video in which the actor is seen sitting in a glass box in the middle of a field, his head covered by a large orange ball.

All about him, orange ping-pong balls are flying around the enclosure.

Outside the glass box, meanwhile, several other figures with orange balls concealing their heads can be seen playing table tennis.

Chalamet, who is wearing a dark tracksuit with “Marty Supreme” emblazoned on his chest, then exits the enclosure and removes the orange ball from his head. In doing so, he officially reveals that his trademark dark locks are gone: the two-time Oscar nominee now has a closely-cropped buzzcut.

Across the internet, social-media users have wasted no time in commenting on Chalamet’s new look; many appear extremely impressed.

Some have also noted that this may be the style sported by Chalamet’s character - Paul Atreides - in the forthcoming third instalment of the sci-fi franchise Dune. Production on Dune 3 is underway, with filming reportedly set to run until around November.
