Vanessa Hudgens is joining Selena Gomez in emphasizing natural beauty. The actress has relaunched her beauty brand, KNOW Beauty, with a new branding — au naturel.

KNOW Beauty, with their trailblazing product, the Glacial Bay Clay Mask, makes products that are made from natural ingredients and use active minerals to boost the appearance of the skin.

A total rebrand

The relaunched beauty line has a brand-new vibe, new ethos, and new products.

“I had to really start from scratch, which was exciting and slightly overwhelming,” Hudgens said.

“It’s a very saturated marketplace and I didn’t want to have my product be just another thing out there,” the actress continued. “I wanted to make sure there was a reason KNOW Beauty was on the map.”

The Glacial Bay Clay Mask

This is where the Glacial Bay Clay Mask came in, the singer’s “hero” product, which she based the launch around.

The 34-year-old, who has talked openly about struggling with acne even as an adult, is a big fan of face masks, especially clay-based masks.

The star previously searched for a good clay mask, trying different brands, but didn’t find one she liked. So, she spent months trying to make one of her own that was a bit different from others available in the market.

“I never found one that I was obsessed with because I always found them a little too dry,” Hudgens said. “I have really oily and sensitive skin, and I just couldn’t find the right one. I was like, ‘I think that’s my place. I think that’s where I start.’”

Hudgens looked for all-natural solutions for her products, and sourced ingredients with active minerals for nourishing the skin and resulting in a smooth complexion.

The ingredients of the clay mask

“I really wanted something that can slot seamlessly into your skincare regimen and really help solve problems,” Hudgens explained.

The key ingredient is Canadian colloidal clay.

“Harvested from an active glacier,” Hudgens said.

“There’s a ton of active minerals,” she continues. “A ton of stuff that’s alive in there, which I love.

The product, developed with Mary Berry, CEO and founder of Cosmos Labs, is completely vegan and cruelty-free, meant to nourish and hydrate the skin and not dry it out, giving a spa-esque experience.

To achieve that end, Hudgens added cucumber, giant sea kelp, and lactic acid. The clay mask has a light – but not overpowering — scent.

The Glacial Bay Clay Mask is available on the KNOW Beauty website as well as on Amazon for $35.
