This Monday morning, the Thai police revealed new information about the Daniel Sancho case. Police Chief Suruchate Hakparn, better known as ‘Big Joke’, has provided details of the autopsy on the remains of Edwin Arrieta.

The process allowed forensics to confirm that the Colombian surgeon died with his throat cut and not in the fight they had, as had been argued by Sancho.

We already have the definitive results of the autopsy. They first quarreled, according to the evidence, at the scene [of the crime]. Daniel punched him, then the doctor [Arrieta] fell and hit his head on the sink, but he did not die at that moment, only when [Sancho] cut his throat”, explained the number two of the Police.

He himself has also assured in an interview for En boca de todos that “there was a very intimate relationship” between Sancho and Arrieta.

The Thai authorities also hypothesize that the crime was affected by the supposed arrival of Laura, Daniel Sancho’s girlfriend, in the Asian country. The Thai police maintain that Sancho was going to receive a visit from his partner on the island where Arrieta was found and that was the reason that precipitated the murder of the Colombian.

According to NBC News, Sancho had already told Arrieta that he was going to marry someone else, but “Edwin didn’t accept it.”

Will the investigation continue?

Big Joke has insisted that the case is closed; the investigation was simple because the evidence only pointed to one person as the alleged perpetrator of the crime: Daniel Sancho.

After compiling some of the evidence, the officer acknowledged that they will make it clear in the report that they consider that the Spanish chef should be sentenced to death.
