What does Snoop Dogg really think about Donald Trump? The rapper’s opinion of the former president

The 52-year-old rapper is going to be involved at the Olympics and his latest words about the former US president have raised questions over his stance.

Update:
A video of Carroll playing at QB has gone viral for his impressive abilities, but some prominent names have called him out for showing up his own players.

It had appeared on the face of it that rapper Snoop Dogg wasn’t a particular fan of Donald Trump. Back in 2017, for example, he released a video along with his song Lavender which had an actor playing the role of the recently positioned US President, looking like a clown. Not the most flattering of depictions, we can all agree. Oh, and then three minutes into the video, Snoop shoots him. A pretty clear opinion of the politician, and one that would see Trump come out rebuking shortly afterwards.

If you haven’t seen it, here’s the music video in question (explicit lyrics):

Snoop slams “weirdo” Trump

Fast forward to Trump’s run for re-election in 2020 and the rapper was making his voice heard to the younger generations, saying that he accepted that some people voted for the businessman-turned-politician in 2016, but couldn’t understand how they hadn’t seen through him by now.

“Donald Trump is a fucking weirdo. If you voted for him, I don’t have no problem with that. But if you’re still with him, fuck you.”

Trump pardon gains Snoop “love and respect”

So to today, and things, at least in a targeted way, seemed to have mellowed. During an interview with The Sunday Times, Snoop wanted to remind us all of that good deed that Trump did as he was departing the White House. You know, when he pardoned Death Row Records associate Michael “Harry-O” Harris, who had been imprisoned on charges of conspiracy and attempted murder for a period spanning 30 years. Trivial stuff.

“Donald Trump? He ain’t done nothing wrong to me. He has done only great things for me. He pardoned Michael Harris. So I have nothing but love and respect for Donald Trump.”

in fact, this isn’t the first time that the rapper has spoken of this. Back at the time, speaking to the New York Post, Snoop gave his praise to the then president for the actions he was taking.

“I love what they did. That’s great work for the president and his team on the way out.”

Trump or Biden for Snoop in 2024?

As things hot up in the race for the White House once again - with an Olympic Games taking up some of a certain rapper’s time in between - and it’s likely to get even nastier than before given what we’ve seen so far, which campaign will be getting Snoop’s vote and voice?

This was put to him in the latest interview and he was guarded with his response. “I may have to [get involved],” he said. “Because there are mixed views on that, so I want to see what the people say...” Far from a conclusive answer, I’d argue, and if the only evidence of him liking Trump is what he did for his friend, maybe another video depiction of a clown is in the making.
