Music has become an integral part of any Super Bowl event with the legendary half-time show on occasion driving more audience than the game itself with the likes of Madonna, Coldplay, Lady Gaga and Rihanna delivering much talked about performances in recent years.

Despite the high budget performances during the interval gathering the bulk of the media spotlight, any major US sporting event always kicks-off with a rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner, the official national anthem of the United States.

R&B singer Usher will look to wow the crowd at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium on Sunday during the half-time interval with Reba McEntire set to perform the national anthem at Super Bowl LVIII as part of a pregame performance in Vegas.

Post Malone is slated to sing “America the Beautiful” before McEntire takes the stage and Andra Day will then perform a rendition of “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”

Following Chris Stapleton in 2023, 68-year-old McEntire, is the second consecutive country performer to be given Super Bowl anthem assignment.

Stapleton sang the “Star-Spangled Banner” before Super Bowl LVII in Glendale, Arizona.

McEntire, a three-time Grammy winner with more than 30 studio albums, said Thursday she first sang the national anthem before a live event at the 1974 National Finals Rodeo.

Throughout her decades-long career, Reba aka the Queen of Country, has sold over 90 million records worldwide, earning three Grammys and 19 Academy of Country Music Awards along the way. The income generated by her large catalogue of music along with sell out stadium shows are integral drivers in contributing to her estimated overall net worth of $95 million.

McEntire has also branched out into the world of acting and her Emmy-nominated sitcom, Reba, ran for six seasons. She has also appeared in hit series such as Young Sheldon, Big Sky as well as appearing in a series of high profile advertising campaigns.

Last year, it was announced that McEntire will be a coach on The Voice, replacing Blake Shelton. She will be a coach on season 24 alongside the likes of Gwen Stefani, Niall Horan, and John Legend.

Reba has also published a series of best selling books including two autobiographies: “I’m a Survivor” and “My Story” with her latest offering a venture into the world of cookery with her recipe book “Not that Fancy”.

Speaking as part of the Super Bowl LVIII build-up, McEntire admitted on Thursday that she is “tickled to pieces” to be a part of many firsts in this year’s Super Bowl in Las Vegas and has been practising her national anthem rendition by singing in the shower!
