In the U.S., millions of Social Security beneficiaries are due to get their latest monthly payment next week, as the Social Security Administration (SSA) continues its benefits-distribution schedule for June 2026.

Who’s receiving Social Security on Wednesday, June 17?

Of the 71.1 million Social Security recipients in the U.S., many are paid on the second, third or fourth Wednesday in each month, depending on their birthday.

On June 17, the third Wednesday this month, benefits are to be issued to recipients born from the 11th to 20th of any month.

June 2026’s full three-Wednesdays schedule is:

• Born on 1st-10th of any month: Wednesday, June 10
• Born on 11th-20th of any month: Wednesday, June 17
• Born on 21st-31st of any month: Wednesday, June 24

NB: If you claim Social Security based on someone else’s work record, the SSA uses the other person’s date of birth.

What other Social Security payment dates are there in June 2026?

• June 3: Social Security paid to some long-term recipients

Social Security beneficiaries who signed up before May 1997 were paid on June 3, regardless of their birthday.

• June 3: Social Security paid to beneficiaries also on SSI

Social Security can be combined with Supplemental Security Income (SSI), a scheme for certain low-income, low-resource individuals. These dual recipients got their SSI on June 1, followed by Social Security two days later.

Social Security recipients can update their bank details using the SSA’s online my Social Security portal.

• Direct Express

Benefits can be loaded onto the Direct Express Card, a special debit card for federal disbursements. Sign up for the card at 1-800-333-1795 or 1-800-772-1213, or at a Social Security office.
