What is the theme for ‘The Chosen’ Season 4?

Director Dallas Jenkins has revealed an inside look into Season 4 of the hit television series ‘The Chosen’.

Update:
Director Dallas Jenkins has revealed an inside look into Season 4 of the hit television series ‘The Chosen’.

Dallas Jenkins has shed some light into the shooting of Season 4 of his successful crowdfunding project, ‘The Chosen’.

‘The Chosen’ releases inside look into season four

‘The Chosen’, released by Angel Studios, zeroes in on Jesus and his 12 disciples during the three years of Jesus’ public ministry.

In a video released by the official ‘The Chosen’ YouTube account on Sunday, fans catch an inside glimpse into the filming of Season 4 and what to expect from the season’s events.

“We’ve given you glimpses, but here’s your first real, extended look at the production of Season 4,” states the caption of the video. “Why is everyone buzzing with excitement, but also feeling some sadness right from the start? You’ll just have to watch and see.”

Dallas Jenkins is ready to tell more of the story

Jenkins gestures to Jonathan Roumie, who plays the role of Jesus, as he was filming in the wilderness on his knees in angst beside his tent.

“It’s Jonathan’s very first shot of Season 4,” Jenkins explained. “It’s very intense, very heavy.”

I do believe Season 4 is not going to be quite as complicated,” the director revealed, before making a comparison to the show’s Season 3. “Walking on water, the feeding of the 5,000, this season is not as complex.”

“Now it’s just as intense and significant, and the story lines are very, very emotional coming back.”

Jenkins reveals the theme of ‘The Chosen’ Season 4

When asked about the theme of Season 4, Jenkins said that it wasn’t focused on one verse, but rather the disciples’ states of mind with the heightening political tension surrounding the movement — and how they deal with the imminent death of Jesus.

“Season 4, it doesn’t fit into one Bible verse, but there’s a lot of the disciples now really starting to wonder where is this going, where is this headed?” said Jenkins.

“Some people don’t remember in the gospels, but Jesus actually told the disciples a couple times, ‘Hey you know what, I’m going to die’. And they were like ‘Interesting, we hear you, so which one of us is the most important in the group?’

“We explore some of that this season, so there’s a lot of finding your place. There’s so much weight this season, so if I was going to answer what’s the theme of this season, and it’s this sadness, kind of a precursor for what’s to come.”

“I got to come up with a better theme.”
