What movies and TV shows have received the most Golden Globe awards and nominations in 2026?
Hollywood’s awards season is getting under way with the 83rd Golden Globes this Sunday. Here’s a look at the most nominated films and TV shows.


The 83rd Golden Globes are taking place this Sunday, 11 January at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California kicking off Hollywood’s awards season. The event will recognize the best of film and television, as well as the best podcast for the first time this year.
Dozens of movies and television series have been nominated for a Golden Globe, but a few have multiple chances to be honored with an award from the international press that cover entertainment.
Film
The Golden Globes are often great indicators of which films will do well at the Academy Awards, which will take place a couple of months later.
Leading the pack for film is Paul Thomas Anderson’s ‘One Battle After Another’ with nine nominations. Not far behind is Joachim Trier’s ‘Sentimental Value’, which garnered eight nominations and Ryan Coogler’s ‘Sinners’, which is in the running for seven.
‘One Battle After Another’: 9 nominations
Paul Thomas Anderson’s black comedy is the overwhelming favorite among the bookmakers to win the Best Musical or Comedy award. Anderson himself is also seen to have the best chance of leaving the ceremony with the award for Best Director.

Joachim Trier is also vying for the Best Director award with his drama exploring human emotions. It is nominated for Best Motion Picture in both the drama and non-English language categories.

Ryan Coogler’s Southern Gothic horror drama is one of the six films looking to win the award for Best Motion Picture Drama and he for Best Director among the seven categories for which ‘Sinners’ received a nomination.

Television
In television, HBO’s ‘The White Lotus’, is secured six nominations, however, three of the show’s actors are competing against each other for the Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role on Television and two in the male category. Likewise, out of the five nominations ‘Adolescence’ received, actors Owen Cooper and Ashley Walters are both competing for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role.

HBO’s comedy drama which takes place in exotic locations with murder as a backdrop is vying for Best Television Series once again this year with seasons one and two taking home the prize.
