With season 48 of ‘Saturday Night Live’ well underway, let’s take a look at the biggest stars the series has managed to secure as hosts for the season.

Firstly, there’s been a couple of changes to the season 48 main cast. Some fan favorites such as Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, Kyle Mooney, and Pete Davidson will not be returning to their roles on the comedy sketch show.

However, a new slue of comedians, writers, and actors will be taking their places. Late last year SNL announced that Marcello Hernandez, Molly Kearney, Michael Longfellow, and Devon Walker were joining the late-night series.

Previous hosts

Kicking off in October of last year, the show’s first celebrity house was ‘Top Gun: Maverick star Miles Teller alongside musical guest Kendrick Lamar. Following close, Grammy winner Megan Thee Stallion served as both the host and musical guest on October 15, 2022.

The following Saturday after, another musician did double duty as both the host and performer that week, Jack Harlow. Harlow has previously performed on the show but never hosted it. In the new year, Actor Michael B. Jordan hosted the show ahead of his directorial and acting debut with ‘Creed III’.

Soon after in February, the star of the breakout HBO series ‘The Last of Us,’ Pedro Pascal hosted the show alongside musical guest Coldplay. This appearance was soon followed by the premiere of the third season of The Mandalorian, in which Pascal stars in.

Upcoming hosts

SNL has even more big names packed for the remainder of the season. Starting in March, fans will see Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce, and ‘Wednesday’ star Jenna Ortega host the show. Alongside musical guests Kelsea Ballerini and 1975.

With 22 episodes in a typical season of SNL, the show is bound to have around seven more guest hosts in the coming months. However, SNL typically only announced celebrity hosts and musical guests a couple of weeks ahead of their date.

Meaning avid fans of the series will have to check back with the show over the next couple of months to see which of the latest stars will be featured in an episode.
