American actress Natalie Protman and her husband Benjamin Millepied are said to be sorting through marriage troubles after it was reported Millepied has engaged in an affair.

It has been claimed by the French press that the famous ballet dancer had the affair with a 25-year old woman.

“He knows he made an enormous mistake and he is doing all he can to get Natalie to forgive him and keep their family together,” a source told People.

Who is Benjamin Millepied?

Millepied was born in Bordeaux, France, on 10 June 1977. In a twist of nominative determinsim, Millepied, which translates to English as ‘thousand-feet’ became a dancer at an early age. In 1995, he joined the New York City Ballet, where he quickly rose to become a principal dancer.

Millepied gained further fame outside the dance world when he choreographed and starred in the 2010 film “Black Swan,” directed by Darren Aronofsky. He met Portman on set with the couple marrying two years later. The couple have two children.

In 2012, Millepied founded the L.A. Dance Project, a contemporary dance company based in Los Angeles. He served as the company’s artistic director until 2016.

Millepied’s career has also included positions as a ballet director. From 2014 to 2016, he served as the director of dance at the Paris Opera Ballet.
