Who is Rosalía’s fiancé, Rauw Alejandro?

Rosalía and her long-term boyfriend Rauw Alejandro are taking the next step in relationship after announcing they are engaged.

The couple did so in their newly released music video, ‘Beso’, which was released on March 24. The song appears on their joint EP ‘R&R’, which was also released on the same day.

The video takes an intimate look into their relationship with several selfies, and clips of the couple traveling around the world together.

It ends with a teary-eyed Rosalía wearing a diamond ring and sharing a kiss with her fiancé.

“Oh my God,” she says in Spanish before adding, “I love you.”

Who is Rauw Alejandro?

Raúl Alejandro Ocasio Ruiz, known as Rauw Alejandro, was born on January 10, 1993 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

His parents, Raul Ocasio and Maria Nelly Ruiz, were both musicians, which no doubt influenced him growing up. Although he played soccer at a young age, he began to focus on his musical career after suffering an injury at the age of 20.

He is a reggaeton singer who is part of the new generation of Puerto Rican musicians in the Urbano genre.

Rauw, who is referred to as the ‘King of Modern Reggaeton’, broke into the Latin R&B music scene with his debut album ‘Afrodisiaco’ back in 2020. Since then he’s released two more albums, ‘Vice Versa’ in 2021 and ‘Saturno’ in 2022.

Along with working with notable Latin artists like Nicky Jam and Anuel AA, Rauw has also worked with fellow Puerto Rican Bad Bunny.

The two teamed up on ‘Party’, which is the 11th track on Bad Bunny’s critical and commercial success, ‘Un Verano Sin Ti’.

Rosalía and Rauw Alejandro’s relationship

The couple reportedly started dating in 2021, and confirmed their relationship status in September 2021 when Rosalia posted a TikTok video of the two in which they formed a heart shape with their arms.

Since then the couple have made appearances on the red carpet, and posted about their relationship on social media.

Rosalía even sparked engagement rumors when she was spotted wearing a diamond ring during a trip to Greece in July 2022, though their engagement wasn’t confirmed until now.

Although both artists have a busy schedule, Rosalía told ‘Primer Impacto’ ahead of the 2022 Latin Grammys in November that they always prioritize their relationship.

“The truth is it’s not easy because his schedule is also very complicated, but I think we always find a way,” Rosalía said in Spanish.

“When it’s not him traveling to where I am, it’s me traveling to where he is. We set aside some days for ourselves, and when we’re not working, we don’t work.”
