The Compton born hip-hop star will perform at the Super Bowl Halftime show with a series of special guests expected.

All eyes in both sports and entertainment worlds will be focused on New Orleans tonight as on the field Kansas City Chiefs face Philadelphia Eagles and Kendrick Lamar is the star attraction for the Halftime Show.

In September last year, Roc Nation, Apple Music and the NFL announced that Kendrick Lamar would perform at the Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. ‘Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They picked the right guy,’ Lamar said after the news broke.
Kendrick did perform as a special guest at the Super Bowl LVI halftime show in 2022 performing ‘M.A.A.D City’ and ‘Alright’. Tonight’s New Orleans Super Bowl now offers the 37-year-old the chance to take centre stage with the rapper set to be joined by a series of high profile guests.

Possible Lamar guests for Super Bowl show
At a press conference earlier this week, Lamar said the audience can expect ‘storytelling’ in his performance. ‘I’ve always been very open to telling stories through my repertoire and my musical history. And I’ve always been passionate about capturing them on whatever stage I’m on, whether it’s my world tour or a performance to 500 people in a club (...) I like people to listen, see and reflect,’ he said.
As things stand the only confirmed guest is SZA who has feature as a guest artist on a series of tracks with Kendrick such as: ‘All the Stars’, ‘Luther’, ‘Gloria’ and ‘Doves in the Wind’.

Local boy Lil Wayne, who hails from New Orleans, has also been highly tipped to appear with the pair releasing the track ‘Mona Lisa’ in 2018. Future and Metro Boomin, who collaborated with Lamar on ‘Like That’, are two other potential candidates.
Lamar has collaborated with a wide range of diverse artists in his career and these include the likes of: Baby Keem, Jay Rock, Doechii, Travis Scott, Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, Taylor Swift, Eminem, Beyoncé, The Weeknd, Sia, U2 and Jay-Z.
One of the more leftfield rumours sees the Compton born rapper set to perform with Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher. Lamar is a self-confessed fan of the now reunited Mancunian indie group who are set to embark on a sold-out global tour later this summer.
so i was just watching james hargreaves guitar (an excellent oasis youtuber), and i have a gut feeling oasis COULD support kendrick lamar during the super bowl half time show.
